New Growth Opportunities For Actors in the Kenyan CTA Sector
Textile East Africa is a Danish and Kenyan collaboration, supporting sustainable development of the East African cotton, textile and apparel industry. The purpose of Textile East Africa is to strengthen the Kenyan cotton, textile and apparel (CTA) industry, promote CTA exports into the European market and support the overall coherence of the sector.
ALL ACTORS IN THE KENYAN CTA SECTOR ARE ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER ONLINE IN ORDER TO LINK UP WITH THE PROGRAMME. THE PROGRAMME WILL FACILITATE NEW GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES, SYNERGIES AND PARTNERSHIPS IN THE KENYAN CTA SECTOR.
The first stage of the programme will involve a mapping of CTA enterprises and training institutions across the country. The targeted institutions include:
CTA Enterprises:
- Export ready (apparel and textile)
- Fashion & Design
- Weaving and knitting plants
- Spinning mills
- Ginning
- Home textile
- Private entrepreneurs in the CTA sector
CTA Training Institutions
- Any Institutions offering courses for any section or all of the Textile Value Chain including: ginning, spinning, weaving, knitting, wet-processing, pattern making, sewing, finishing
- Universities
- Vocational training institutions
- Private colleges
Shortlisted institutions will participate in capacity building programs and export promotion activities targeting Danish and EU markets.
